This video has had over three million views on the New York Times web site. IKO-IKO with Graham Wood Drout, Good Rockin’ Johnny Wenzel and Jimmy Daniel closes their legendary home Miami’s Tobacco Road after having been the house band for well over thirty years.The band showed up at 3 am to close out the night with special guest Eric Garcia from the Miami Band JUKE on harmonica. This is a very nice tribute to a very special Blues Bar.

IKO-IKO PARTYING IT UP @ THE KING MANGO STRUT

Once again IKO-IKO will be strutting their stuff at the 2014 COCONUT GROVE KING MANGO STRUT at 2:00pm on Sunday December 28th and finishing up with a street party on Commodore Plaza until 6:00 pm.
This years Grand Marshall is none other than our very good friend and champion for the arts WLRN’s ED BELL. IKO-IKO will be bringing the love back to Coconut Grove with a tribute to Tobacco Road as we go rolling merrily along. If you have never been to the “STRUT” don’t miss this one! This s**t is also legendary!

IKO-IKO has been a major part of the South Florida music scene for more than thirty years and has brought national and international attention to our city and state. We now have the opportunity to showcase and compete on a global level this coming January in the place where American music was born. IKO-IKO is honored to be representing the South Florida Blue Society in the 2015 International Blues Challenge in Memphis and we need your help to offset the cost of the trip. We are asking for donations of $10.00 ,a penny a mile, to get us to Memphis.Any support that you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
